Would You Eat the Kuro Burger? Burger King Invents Black Cheese, Black Bun To Sell in Japan

On September 19th, Burger King Japan will bring back the “Kuro Burger”, which it began selling last year. The “Kuro” Burger takes the phrase “All black everything” to heart!  The buns are black, the cheese is black, even the sauce that they put on it is black! The patties even made with black peppers. It’s not surprising that they went so far, “Kuro” is Japanese for Black.

To create the coloring for the black cheese and buns, Kotaku reports, the company used bamboo charcoal. The black, onion and garlic, sauce that tops the Kuro Burger is made with squid ink included.

If you’re willing to try it, the Kuro Pearl (below) will only run you the equivalent of $4.49…and a plane ticket to Japan, so probably not worth it.

The Kuro Diamond, which at least has some recognizable colors on it, is a bit pricier. Strange, no?
