Sander van Doorn Spins NYC Into Halloween At Pacha | Review
On Saturday, October 26th, RPM Presents already had the Pier of Fear 2013 set up for an amazing comeback to New York City, after last year’s unfortunate cancellations. Some of the best talent in the electronic music industry had descended upon Manhattan to celebrate Halloween, like only New York City can. Sander van Doorn was one such artist, headlining at Pacha NYC, in town to celebrate Halloween.
Sander van Doorn hopped on stage around 2 am, he was met by an eager crowd of monsters, superheroes, and a host of other uniquely costumed fans. He played to the crowd, mixing in music he has produced like “Joyenergizer”, “Kangaroo”, and of course “Neon”! The crowd was clearly a mix of fans who came out to see Sander van Doorn, Sensation attendees–dressed all in white–searching for an afterparty, and people who had just left pier 94’s Pier of Fear celebration.
Sander van Doorn played, roughly, a 3-hour set; mostly sticking to music that he had produced or originally remixed. He did mix in songs by Krewella, who later performed at Pier 94 on Halloween night, and Eric Prydz.
Pacha set out to give fans an amazing precusor to Halloween, and were wildly successful! Sander Van Doorn played into the early morning, then Tyler Sherritt took over; his set would continue well past sunrise. The crowd of pleased, costumed-fans made their way home still wearing costumes as the rest of New York City began their Sunday.
