The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the home to one of the best St. Patrick’s Day celebrations of any college in the United States. Dubbed “Unofficial St. Patty Day” (where the crazy happens), it is one of the biggest parties of the year at the University of Illinois. There is another big event that occurs is called Cotton Club, which happens in February. Although the area isn’t as diverse as Chicago, the party scene is pretty exciting and lively. The Greek life is a major option at this school, butif you don’t “go greek”, that doesn’t mean that you will be trapped in your room each weekend. You can easily find something to do at the University of Illinois because there is no shortage of bars in the area. A lot of celebrities perform at clubs and bars because it is the biggest university in Illinois. So, students can easily stumble into anamazing performance, unlike their counterparts at smaller schools in illinois. As sports teams go, the Football team has been under performed as of late, but it’s a big school so the potential for a good recruiting class is
always there. On the upside, the Men’s Basketball team went to the NCAA tourney last season and was ranked in the top 25 for the majority of the year.

University of Illinois Greek Life : Yes, very active. One of the most vibrant greek communities in Illinois. The Frat houses are huge so there can multiple huge frat parties in one weekend.
