University of Vermont (UVM) Catamounts | Top Party Schools Review
University of Vermont
Generally, students have a positive outlook on the party scene at UVM. Being that Burlington is generally 21+, underage students can throw successful dorm parties as long as they are aware of RA rounds. Many students lament that dorm parties can be broken up easily, which is regular occurrence during the winter months. Once in awhile, underage students will be able to attend 18+ nights held at a few clubs in Burlington. In regards to partying off campus, students have the option of going to apartments/houses in downtown Burlington, frat parties, and sport team houses. Thankfully, UVM has a ubiquitous “drunk bus” to transport students to variety of points downtown until 2 a.m. If you miss the bus, you will be forced to walk up the hill back to campus, which is particularly unpleasant during the winter, or take a cab home. This school seems ideal for those who are into live-music and festivals as there are always a variety of concerts taking place in Burlington. The best places to see music are Nectar’s, Club Metronome and Higher Ground. Festivals typically take place at the Church Street Marketplace, which is in the
heart of downtown Burlington. Although UVM’s entire varsity sports program compete in Division I of the NCAA, they are specifically renowned for their hockey and ski teams. Many of their former students on these respective teams have gone on to play in the NHL and compete with the offic
ial USA team. Additionally, their hockey team has won 52 national championships.
